Intro to K9 Nose Work®:

Searching for a new game to play with your WiggleButt? Join us for a scent-illating 6 week introduction to Nose Work. Learn to constructively engage your dog's sense of smell, cultivate natural hunting instincts, strengthen the human-canine bond, and provide appropriate mental and physical stimulation for your dog.  Dogs in Nose Work class work one-at-a-time which means ANY dog can play.  No previous training is required but dogs who are not working will need to be stowed quietly in your car (crated if necessary).  All breeds will have a smell of a good time.

K9 NW2:

Teams who complete Intro to Nose Work and are proficient with the foundation skills can enroll in K9 NW2 - The Sequel.  This course will explore advanced sniffing techniques.  Teams will work to efficiently search a variety of environments as they work in all 4 elements - containers, interiors, exteriors, and vehicles.  Dogs will learn to respond to verbal search cues and handlers will work on proper leash handling and observation skills.

Intro to Odor:

This class will introduce the first of 3 target odors.  Eligible teams have completed Intro to K9 Nose Work® and K9 NW2 and have at least 6 months of practice with sniff games in all elements.  Dogs will learn to recognize and search for the target odor in a variety of environments.  Handlers will understand how to use and store odor, build the odor association, and recognize when dogs are at source.  The last class will be a practice Odor Recognition Test (ORT).

Nose Work Class Requirements:

Dogs should be in good health to participate in these classes.  Your dog:
